The 7.5 tonne dropside is the larger of our two dropside classes, for heavier loads or more frequent haulage. It is a larger, heavier vehicle than the 3.5 tonne dropside, so consider access and manoeuvring room.
It is hired self-drive to businesses. You supply the driver, load and secure the load, and arrange your own suitable insurance.

Contract hire

Does 7.5 tonne mean it can carry 7.5 tonnes?
No. It is the gross vehicle weight, which includes the vehicle. The payload is lower and varies by vehicle. Ask the hire desk to confirm it.
Should I choose a dropside or a curtainsider?
A dropside is open and loads from the sides and rear, so it suits bulky materials. A curtainsider is covered, so it suits loads that need weather protection. Tell the hire desk about your load and they will advise.
Is insurance included?
No. Tilly Hire does not provide motor insurance. You must arrange suitable cover for the specific hired vehicle under your own business or fleet policy.
